Mexico Blogs
In November 2022, I visited Mexico for the first time. I arrived just after the Day of the Dead, and just before the start of the 2022 World Cup, making it a very exciting time to visit Mexico.
Sandwiched between the United States and the start of the Northern Triangle/Central America lies Mexico, a wonderfully rich and proud country that boasts some incredible destinations and features that any traveller wishing to explore Latin America should be keen to indulge in. This blog will highlight the main attractions of this adventurous and beautiful country which can all be experienced on our holidays to Mexico.
We know it's not possible to get away to a palm-fringed beach lapped by warm waters just yet, but for when it is, we've just launched a fabulous new holiday in tropical Yucatán in Mexico. Long stretches of Caribbean coastline and ancient Mayan ruins are the key ingredients to our brand new Magical Yucatán itinerary which takes you beyond the beaches where 99% of tourists stay. You can swim in cenotes around the 'Lagoon of Seven Colours', cook a show-stopping Mexican feast in Mérida, explore the ancient Mayan wonders of Uxmal, Tulum and Chichén Itzá and unwind on the sparkling white beaches of the Riviera Maya. You can also extend your holiday to swim with whale sharks and soak up the laidback vibe of the car-free paradise of Holbox Island.
Keep reading to find out seven highlights of our brand new Mexico holiday, which starts at £1,849 for 9 days including flights, accommodation, transfers and some excursions.
I’ll be honest, there’s one major reason for my love of travel – food.
My travels in search of new and delicious food to try most recently took me to Mexico, the only country in the world whose cuisine is protected under the UNESCO heritage scheme. I was not disappointed.
We got our first sight of Mexico City as we circled above the metropolis after our 11 flight from London. Viewing this sprawling city from above at night truly emphasised the sheer size of the capital and we couldn’t wait to start exploring. What follows is what we got up to, and what you might want to do too.
Our Sales Supervisor, Mari, recently visited Mexico on our inaugural Mexico departure. She discovered a place where ancient indigenous cultures meet modern inventions and form the most fascinating hybrids!
My journey through Mexico took me to amazing places. One which deserves a special mention is San Juan de Chamula, a small town just outside San Cristobal de las Casas. Here Maya culture is alive and well, and visiting the local church really blew my mind.
