Its location has enabled endless waves of invaders, leaving behind Roman amphitheatres, Crusader castles, Christian mosaics and the lost city of Petra. Jordan also offers spectacular natural wonders, including the super-salty Dead Sea, the lunar Wadi Rum desert and the rugged valleys of the Dana Biosphere Reserve.
