Llama Travel is excited to announce the addition of Mexico holidays to our Latin America collection. A Passage Through Mexico showcases some of the country’s most talked-about points of interest, from ancient Maya ruins and colonial architecture, to meeting traditional local communities and marveling at some of its natural wonders.

The 12 day/10 night Passage Through Mexico tour starts from £1699, including flights from the UK, hotels and transfers.

Flying into historic Mexico City, the tour gives you the chance to uncover the culture and architecture of this thriving metropolis over the course of three days. Next is colonial San Cristóbal, a city perfect to explore on foot. During a two night stay, visit the striking Sumidero Canyon and two nearby Maya communities. From here head to Palenque for two nights, where jungle temples, Maya friezes, and the fabulous Agua Azul waterfalls await. From Palenque, head northwards into the Yucatan Peninsula to Mérida, the land of wealthy haciendas and intriguing cenotes (freshwater sink holes). The last leg of the tour takes you to the world-famous Chichén Itzá archaeological site, and on to the glittering beaches of Cancún, where you can enjoy a night on the Caribbean coast.

For a longer Mexico adventure, extensions worth considering are a three night stay on the Caribbean coastline of the Riviera Maya, perfect for unwinding in the sunshine, or a three night stay in Oaxaca, an attractive highland city famous among foodies for its traditional Mexican gastronomy.
