9 Beautiful Landscape Shots of Latin America
Cape Horn Cruise, Argentina
Latin America is a beauty - culturally and landscape-wise. Our photo bank is brimming with images of the continent and now seems as good a time as any to showcase some of these photos. These photos reveal just how gorgeous Latin America's landscapes really are.
1. Ecuador's Andean Highlands
Much of Ecuador is agricultural land, cultivated in the highlands of the Andes Mountains. The effect of this farming activity on the landscape is to give it a patchwork appearance, as sections of the flourishing greenery is segmented into fields of corn, quinoa and livestock areas. You can see our Ecuador holidays here.
2. Colombia's Cocora Valley
The Cocora Valley is easy to identify thanks to the wax palms which dot the sides of the valley. These trees are a symbol of Colombia - and not necessarily what you might expect to find in the Andes Mountains. You can see our Colombia holidays here.
3. Peru's Colca Canyon
The Colca Canyon proudly takes it's place amongst the great canyon's of the world, rivalling even the Grand Canyon. You can see our Peru holidays here.
4. Costa Rica's Corcovado Coast
Costa Rica is all prettiness from east to west, with plenty of gorgeous coastlines and forests to choose from. Corcovado is but one of the country's photogenic natural assets. You can see our Costa Rica holidays here.
5. Argentinian Patagonia
Patagonia, if you haven't heard of it, is a sparsely populated region at the southern tip of the Andes Mountain range. It is very much big sky country, with wide open space abounding in every direction. You can see our Argentina holidays here.
6. Brazil's Iguazu Falls
Iguazu Falls is a thundering mass of water which gushes over a series of waterfalls, creating both an eye, and ear full of an attraction. You can see our Brazil holidays here.
7. Guatemala's Lake Atítlan
A serene scene in a perfectly wonderful little country, Lake Atítlan is on the highlights list for many travellers to Guatemala. You can see our Guatemala holidays here.
8. Chile's Atacama Desert
Marketed as the world's driest desert, the Atacama offers some spectacular scenery, especially around sunrise and sunset, when the light falls on the textured landscape, making beautiful patterns. You can see our Chile holidays here.
9. Bolivia's Uyuni Salt Flats
The Uyuni Salt Flats are a marvel at any time of day, as the seemingly endless expanse of white creates a surreal depthless feeling. It is especially striking at sunrise though, particularly after the rain. You can see our Bolivia holidays here.
