Puerto Iguazu

Puerto Iguazu is a small, pleasant town located at the confluence of the Iguazu and Parana Rivers. The town acts primarily as a gateway for visits to the nearby falls. The town is characterised by its low white buildings, lush vegetation and relaxed atmosphere.

Although there is not much to do in the town itself, there are reasonable facilities, and there are some good views of the rivers. Over the border in Brazil, it is possible to visit the Itaipu dam, one of the world’s largest hydroelectric power plants. Guided tours of the plant are offered several times a day.
